Day-by-Day Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arusha Departure & Scenic Drive

   Your expert BIG TOURS safari guide will collect you early from your Arusha hotel. We embark on a picturesque three-hour journey, passing through vibrant local farming communities and ascending into the verdant highlands surrounding Karatu.

2. Day 1

   Crater Descent & Game Drive

   Upon reaching the Loduare Gate, we complete registration formalities. After a brief stop at a stunning viewpoint to appreciate the immense scale of the caldera, we begin our descent 600 meters down the steep walls onto the crater floor, ready to commence our thrilling game drive.

3. Day 1

   Lakeside Picnic Lunch

   We pause our wildlife exploration to enjoy a delicious packed picnic lunch with views overlooking the Ngoitokok hippo pool. Observe the hippos as they surface and keep an eye out for opportunistic black kites circling above.

4. Day 1

   Ascent & Return to Arusha

   After a fulfilling day tracking lions, observing rhinos, and spotting magnificent elephant bulls, we begin our ascent back up the crater wall. The drive back will bring you to your hotel in Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport by early evening.
